- 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed for batter
- Oil for cooking
- Soak the masoor dal in water for at least 2 hours.
- Drain the dal and blend it with a little water to form a smooth batter.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds, chopped onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, and salt to the batter.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a circle.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
