A delightful recipe for savory pancakes made from red lentils.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup masoor dal (red lentils)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed for batter
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Soak the masoor dal in water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Drain the dal and blend it with a little water to form a smooth batter.
  3. Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds, chopped onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, and salt to the batter.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a circle.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Repeat with the remaining batter.

  • Serve with chutney or yogurt for dipping.
  • Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
